International
Long visits
Long mobility (20 weeks of work experience in a European company) is available through three European training programmes: transnational training, Movil'App training, and EUROSTART training.
Transnational training
This prepares future apprentices, mainly from a Bac Pro and/or with weak foreign language skills, to enter an apprenticeship in a first year BTS (Assistant Manager, Tourism, etc.) by improving their language skills, increasing their academic and cultural knowledge, and providing an initial taste of international work experience.

The Socrates-Leonardo Da Vinci agency recognised the merits of the 2004/2006 programme for this transnational training by awarding us the European Mobility Trophy. This award highlighted the excellence of the whole programme for:
- Lessons in preparation for the work experience programme, conducted during the training period in our CFA.
- Assisting young people in finding their work experience placements in Europe.
- Guidance during the work experience.
- Approving the training.
The work experience period abroad is often the trainee's first contact with the business world, and tests the trainees' motivation and adaptability with a view to continuing training as apprentices.
TESTIMONIALS
'The Leonardo programme is reassuring because the training is supervised by teachers and supervisors who keep an eye on us throughout the work experience period. I made a lot of progress in Spanish and English, and I obtained European recognition of my diploma.' E. Weber
FURTHER INFORMATION
- Transnational training: open to young people aged 18 and over with a Bac, 8 weeks' training at the FDME, 60 to 120 hours of language teaching under the 'chéquiers langues' ('language chequebook') scheme, 5 months of professional work experience in Europe.
- Registration: from April to October, 16 places are available.
The Movil'App programme
This allows former apprentices from the Faculté des Métiers de l'Essonne to spend a work experience period abroad in their sector (commerce, tourism, computing, boilermaking, etc.), allowing them to improve their language skills. During this time, they can observe different working methods in a new cultural and professional environment. A discovery course in Liverpool is organised to help the trainees, thanks to a partnership with the IERF (International Educational Research Foundation), including a language chequebook and techniques for finding a work experience placement.
TESTIMONIALS
'I found my work experience placement in London thanks to the Kapstage site. I then improved my English by taking a six-week course with four hours of lessons a day. The Movil'App scheme provides support: in a way I wasn't going alone. My instructors were there in case of need. And I must admit that the grant provided by the programme was an important factor in my choice of course. Why London? Because from there it was easy to go back to France whenever I wanted. I was given several tasks to perform: marketing, accounting, supplier orders, office management and organisation, etc. I never would have thought I could learn to manage on my own in a foreign country. Now I've done it, and I feel proud of that.' P. Chusseau
FURTHER INFORMATION
- Movil'App training: post-apprentice European training, language chequebooks, 4 to 5 months of work experience in Europe.
- Registration: in June and July, 13 places available.
- In 2007, 12 trainees (ex apprentices) participated in this course.
EUROSTART training
This training allows apprentices between two levels to upgrade
their knowledge in order to join a training course with certain
language requirements.
They will thus be able to acquire
international professional experience and, in the long term, join a
European services company.
FURTHER INFORMATION
- EUROSTART training: European training, 6 months of work experience in Europe and 4 months of training at the training centre.
- Registration: The application form can be picked up from the enrolment department of the Training Centre.
These three courses benefit from the Leonardo Da Vinci programme,
providing financial aid to these young people by giving them a grant
of approximately €880* per month.
Our partnerships with various European schools help the trainees
to find a work experience placement. The most popular destinations are:
Cork, London, Manchester, and Saint Julian. Barcelona, Valencia.
