Short visits
Faculté des Métiers offers its students at all levels (preparatory classes, Levels II, III, IV and V) the opportunity to develop their mobility. Faculté des Métiers offers several options for short stays abroad (from 5 days to 3 weeks):
- Group professional discovery trip abroad, for apprentices to discover a different environment and new professional activities related to their trade.
- Professional gathering abroad, for group courses, seminars, and/or professional training sessions in a company and/or a training centre.
- Welcoming young people on exchange visits from our partner schools as part of an ongoing cultural and professional exchange.
Several trips to various European countries have been organised:
-
Norway (November 07): discovery trip for
Cook, Pastry Chef, and Restaurant CAP and BP students.
The aim of the trip was for the young participants to discover a different culture through the catering trades. The apprentices were integrated into the school's classes, which enabled them to experience a different teaching method. The immersion in companies allowed them to learn about new culinary practices and to improve their English. - Poland (February 08): discovery trip for the industrial classes (Bac Pro ELEEC1, SEN2)
- Norway (February 08): Hosting Norwegian visitors in the catering courses.
-
Malta (March 08): discovery trip for Sales
& Merchandising BEP students3.
This trip provided an opportunity to use English as the main language of communication in day-to-day and professional situations. The trainees were able to increase their knowledge in the commercial field, and all were awarded a language certification by an instructor. The programme included: English lessons, sales workshops, work experience in a Maltese company, and a tour of the capital and various historic sites.
-
Germany (March 08): professional gathering
of the Tourism BTS trainees
One of the main objectives of this trip was to meet the tourism students from SABEL, our partner school in Munich. The high point of the 'cultural' tours was the visit to the Dachau concentration camp. The apprentices were able to observe the differences between cultures whilst enjoying various activities with the young Germans. - Senegal (March 08): professional gathering of MRIM (microcomputing and networks) BAC Pro students4.
-
Spain (April 08): group visit by the
Hairdressing BP trainees.
The apprentices were able to observe the working methods used in Spanish hairdressing salons and find out about working conditions in Spain. The cultural benefits of spending time outside France included the opportunity to discover different customs. The tour of Salamanca, with its university, cathedrals, museums, and a cosmetics factory... these discoveries made a lasting impression on the apprentices. - Finland (May 08): professional gathering of the Sales Technician BTS trainees
